Yesterday was excellent. I learned how to play Halo and I sucked but it was fun.
Reading the paper and suddenly had a thought. I know this sounds extreme but I think of the conservative right gains control of the Supreme Court that we are all screwed. Take for example the new Supreme Court hopeful, John G. Roberts. He is an advocate for prayer in public schools (only at major functions though, such as graduations), wants to reverse the ruling in Roe v. Wade (are you getting this ladies...re-motherfucking-verse!), and finds some environmental actions illegal and wants those reversed as well (Anney I do believe this may be the end of the happy sparrow). Imagine what this could become if we find ourselves with a high court that thinks like this guy. Here's my take on it; we give this guy control and we're set back a good thirty years. We'll go right back to the debates and issues we thought we cleared up long ago. Hell, with this new prayer in public schools thing he's into we'll be going all the way back to the Kentucky-Virginia Resolutions of the late 1700's. That my friends is a set back. Also, no more Roe? In a feminist sense, Roe was kind of like the pennacle of the feminist movement of the 1970's and kind of a success for a very short lived movement.
Fuck, I have more to say but my ride is here for Otter Island. More later.
